John Hanson Community School students are celebrating the school’s best ever GCSE results with 74% of students achieving 5 A*-C grades, and 66% of the students achieving 5 or more A* – C passes which include English and Mathematics.
This is a fantastic outcome which is a 18% increase on last year’s results. There were many happy faces as the students opened their results envelopes, shared results with friends and then texted or phoned parents to share the good news.
Ian Coombs, Headteacher said,
We are absolutely delighted for these young people. They worked extremely hard over the GCSE years and the efforts they made have paid dividends. I am sure they would also acknowledge the deep commitment and extra miles gone by their teachers and other staff to support them with examination success. We wish them all the very best in the next stage of their education or training
These results indicate that our students achieved grades 17% above the English national average for A*-C grades, and 11% above the Mathematics national average.
