Grant for Kwood Youth Club

Two youth clubs have benefited from a Valley Park Councillor Community Grant worth £1,000.

Fifteen members of Knightwood Youth Club, or Kwood youth club as it is known, visited Oxygen trampoline park on 4 February where they enjoyed spending time with friends and having fun. The grant also funded a go-karting trip on 4 March in Gosport for the older members of the youth club.

Councillor Alan Dowden presented the grant to Sarah Holland, a youth worker at Kwood. He said:

The youth club is a fantastic centre for young people. It is run by a team of dedicated staff who provide a range of activities and events for approximately 70 members aged between 13 and 17. I am pleased to support the club by awarding them some much needed funding to enable the members to enjoy some activities further afield.

Sarah said:

Thank you very much to our local councillors for supporting our growing youth club. We regularly host sports and games sessions but this extra funding has allowed us to take the members to a trampoline park and go-karting, which they absolutely loved!

Kwood youth club meet on Friday evenings at 6.30pm to 9pm at Knightwood Leisure Centre.
