Gold RSPCA Awards for Winchester’s Animal Welfare

The RSPCA has awarded Winchester City Council’s Animal Welfare team Gold Footprint Awards for their outstanding work with stray dogs and the licensing of animal establishments.

The team, Dave Griffiths and Ross Shepherd, were recognised for going above and beyond for their work protecting, re-homing and returning stray dogs to their owners and ensuring establishments are providing excellent care for animals.

In addition, the RSPCA has acknowledged the Housing team’s work with council tenants and their pets by giving them the Silver Footprint Award.

Cllr Jan Warwick, Portfolio Holder for Environment at Winchester City Council, said:

I am delighted that the hard work and excellent standards of the council have been recognised by the RSPCA. Congratulations to everyone involved for this outstanding achievement.

The team will receive their award at a ceremony in London this November.
