Equine Sparsholt College

Go all the way at Sparsholt College

There’s never been a better time to apply to Sparsholt College and with record numbers of students progressing from college to degree and masters courses, it’s possible to go all the way to the top there. The last open evening of the year is fast approaching and the College is urging all those either still considering their college options or degree choices to come along on Thursday 22 June, 4pm to 7pm.

Principal Tim Jackson explains further:

We are still taking applications for a number of our courses from school leavers through to students applying to study on our degree and postgraduate programmes so the message is ‘it’s not too late to apply’. The open evening is the perfect opportunity for prospective students to come along, meet our expert lecturers and identify the right course. Coming to Sparsholt allows our students to follow their passion through active, immersive learning and experience- our campus is their classroom, our contacts in their industry give them a proving ground. At Sparsholt we see young people finding their place, developing into their ever-growing career competence which leads to great opportunities for the future.

The Horse Trust Training Officer Hana Wilson went all the way at Sparsholt. Hana originally joined the College from school on an Equine course before returning to complete a degree in Equine Studies, progressing to the MSc in Equine Behaviour, Performance and Training. She says:

I now work for The Horse Trust with the Knowledge and Skills team as a Training Officer. I have the fantastic job of running the one-day training courses, including training Police, Fire and Rescue, and now the new programme for Highways England. It was the lecturers, knowledge and skills acquired at Sparsholt which provided me with the framework to achieve my end goals.

The open evening on the 22 June is ideal for would-be UCAS Extra applications which are open until the 4 July. This is the second stage in the application year for students who have not found a suitable course offer so far, therefore potential degree and master’s students hoping to start in September are encouraged to come along to the event to discuss their options.
