Garment Studio makes the cut for a grant

Test Valley Borough Council has presented a talented creative designer, Peta Chattell, with a £750 Business Incentive Grant following the launch of her new business, Garment Studio.

Peta creates high quality, unique garments and soft furnishings at her unit at Walworth Business Park, Andover. She has refurbished the unit and can accommodate anyone who wishes to rent space and make use of Peta’s skills and equipment. The six workstations also make the unit the perfect setting to teach dressmaking, sewing and short courses.

Peta said:

I love getting to know my clients and creating beautiful items for them, but it’s also great to help them to learn the skills they need to make their own pieces. Test Valley Borough Council has been very supportive of my new venture and I’d urge anyone who is considering setting up their own business to contact the Council for advice.

St Mary’s ward member, Councillor David Denny, said:

Peta has worked really hard to launch her new business and refurbish her workspace to suit the needs of Garment Studio. I’d like to congratulate her on the achievement and wish her the best of luck in the future.

The £750 grants are available to anyone looking to set up their own business in Test Valley. Budding entrepreneurs should apply for the grant before they start their company and if it is still going strong six months later, they will receive the cheque.
