It’s Pancake Day !
Here’s a recipe to make Pancake mixture and how to make letter pancakes;
- 8oz (200g) plain flour
- 1 Pint (500ml) of milk.
- 2 Eggs
- A desired amount of Cocoa or Chocolate powder
- Cooking oil
Method
1. Sieve flour into large bowl
2. Make a visible hole in the middle of the flour and crack both eggs into it
3. Mix with flour, whilst slowly adding milk stirring continuously
4. Separate mixture into two (approximately 150ml & 350ml)
5. Add a little Cocoa or Chocolate powder to the mixture (150ml) until desired brown colour (darker than other mixture)
6. Pour darker mixture into a washed & dried container like an old ketchup bottle
7. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan
8. Use ketchup bottle with darker mixture to write your letter in frying pan, remembering letters will need to be written the opposite way around to read the right way around after flipping!
9. Pour around half a standard size mug of original mixture (350ml) over the top
10. Cook the first side until golden brown and set, then flip over !
Serve with traditional Lemon & Sugar, Golden or Maple syrup, chocolate spread & strawberries or whatever you fancy. Enjoy Pancake day !
