Several of my customers have now successfully upgraded or purchased new computers with Windows 10, but there have been plenty of issues during the process of setting them up.
The following are the top 3 most frequently asked questions that I’ve dealt with:
Q1. Where have my Programs gone?
The Start menu is the place to find a full list of all apps or programs. Select the Start button, and then select All apps in the lower left-hand corner.
Q2. How do I find the ‘Control Panel’?
One of the easiest ways to get to the Control Panel is click in the search box near the bottom left corner of the screen and type in Control Panel (1).
Control Panel should be at the top of the list produced by this search – click on Control Panel to open it. Alternatively you can right click Control Panel, choose Pin to taskbar and you will see an icon on the taskbar for easier access in the future (2).
Q3. How do I change the desktop background and colours?
Click the Start button, then select Settings, followed by Personalisation to choose a picture to have as your desktop background. You can also change the accent colour for Start, the taskbar and other items here. The preview window gives you a sneak peek of your changes as you make them.
