Argenti MJ Award

Fourth national award for Hampshire County Council’s trailblazing telecare partnership in two years

Hampshire County Council and the PA Consulting Group-led Argenti Telehealthcare Partnership have received further national recognition for their ground-breaking use of telecare to support vulnerable people to stay safe and well, and living independently.

The County Council and its telecare partners picked up the Municipal Journal (MJ) award for ‘Delivering Better Outcomes’ at the recent 2017 awards ceremony. The accolade recognises how, through technological innovation, the County Council has made a real difference to the lives of Hampshire residents, both older residents as well as younger adults with learning and physical disabilities.

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Health, said:

Hampshire continues to lead the way in pushing the boundaries in the world of assistive technology.  Working closely with our telecare partners, we have been able to support many thousands of people to continue living independently in their own homes, in ways we could never have imagined a few short years ago.  As demand for adult social care soars, so technology will play an even greater role in helping vulnerable people.  I am extremely proud of the work we are doing in Hampshire and I am delighted that this has once again been recognised nationally.

More than 8,000 County Council clients are currently being supported by telecare and to date the use of this type of technology has saved the Local Authority £4.7 million over three years up to July 2016.

Steve Carefull, Director, PA Consulting and Argenti Programme Director, said:

It is a huge honour for the team to be recognised once again, this time at the prestigious 2017 Municipal Journal awards. Our work with the County Council is industry leading, and we are proud of the role we are playing in helping the Authority to deliver more with shrinking resources.
