Test Valley Borough Council has presented Rebecca Clooney and Jenni Collard with an Independent Retailer Grant following the opening of their new Romsey-based aesthetic clinic, Facedermals, which offers its clients a range of skincare treatments.
Rebecca and Jenni are both registered nurses and ran a mobile business together for eight months before the company grew successful enough to take on permanent premises. The unit at 7 Bell Street is the ideal location for Facedermals to keep growing and to continue to offer a number of therapies including botox, teeth whitening and anti-acne treatments.
Rebecca said: I am really pleased to receive the grant from Test Valley Borough Council. The money has been a great help towards the business during its first few months.
Romsey ward member, Councillor Ian Richards, added:
Rebecca and Jenni are both very professional and committed to their clients. They have done a fantastic job to set up Facedermals. I am pleased to present them with the Independent Retailer Grant and to see another new business come to Romsey.
Recipients of the £1,000 grant receive £500 after three months of trading and a further £500 six months later. To be eligible for the grant, new or existing independent businesses must occupy a town centre ground floor unit which has been vacant for at least one month. Qualifying businesses include shops, restaurants and cafes.
