Enham Way will officially open this weekend

The Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Andersen and Alamein ward councillors will officially open the Enham Way on Saturday, 18 July at 11am at Andover Shopmobility.

The Enham Way is an accessible path, 3.4 miles long, between Enham Alamein and Andover, which has been upgraded to give wheelchair users and people with limited mobility a greater opportunity to travel to and from Andover. The route helps users increase their independence by providing a wider, flatter and safer route to the town centre.

Councillor Phil North, Alamein ward councillor said;

The Enham Way is a first class facility for wheelchair users, giving them the confidence to get into Andover town centre independently. I consulted with Enham residents after I met with the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Enham Trust in the Council offices and since then the project has been a real collaboration between the Trust and Test Valley Borough Council.

Members of the public are invited to join in and celebrate the Enham Way on foot, in a mobility scooter or wheelchair. The route will start at Andover Shopmobility at 11am and will end at Enham Alamein for complimentary tea and cake on the village green. From 12.30pm to 2pm, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a walk back in time by exploring the village’s new history trail, which will also be formally opened.
