Enham Trust to hold open day, showcasing new respite care service in Andover

Leading disability charity Enham Trust is preparing to hold an open day in mid-September, inviting interested parties to view, and learn more about, the new respite care & rehabilitation service they are now offering to individuals and their families, in the area.

The service, which officially launched at the beginning of July, will be run from the charity’s newly developed Cedar Park Apartments, and comes as part of Enham Trust’s plans to build a state-of-the-art Neurological Rehabilitation Unit and array of accessible homes on their main site.

The specialist units we’ve created offer a blueprint for other organisations, comments Enham Trust’s CEO Peta Wilkinson. They offer a way for people to have space, time, and facilities to recover and return to independence in a safe, supportive environment. They give the individual’s family the confidence to know their loved one is receiving the very specific support they need. A solution like this seems to me to be the logical way forward. We think we are offering one of the essential missing pieces of the jigsaw.

Each of these 10 apartments offers people looking for respite, short breaks, and rehabilitation stays the space, facilities, and optional care & support they need to enjoy some time away in a safe, supportive, and tranquil environment.

Resident of Enham Trust’s Cedar Park Apartments, Ashley, who acquired a brain injury at the age of 14, remarked of her stay:

I was looking for respite but all the hospital could offer me was respite at elderly care homes. I have really enjoyed my respite stay at Enham Trust… I like that there are people of different ages here and the community is friendly… I have enjoyed my stay here so much I would like to move here; in the meantime I will be planning another stay at Cedar Park Apartments.

The open day will take place on 13th September with Enham Trust’s Business Development Executive Sharon Manzur.
