Andover based charity, the Enham Trust were lucky enough to be invited to the Queen’s Garden Party, held at Buckingham Palace this month. Several members of the Trust, along with Paul, who receives 24 hour care as part of Enham Trust’s support services enjoyed the recent festivities at the at the Royal Party.
The Queen and Prince Philip opened their doors to 8,000 guests on the 10th May; Paul and three Enham Trust staff members, including Emma Chapman and Lisa Cook being among those lucky enough to receive an invite.
They enjoyed quintessentially British summer treats of cucumber and mint sandwiches followed by Eton Mess tarts whilst mingling with royalty.
Many of the Windsor’s were in attendance including, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne, the Duke of Kent and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Paul who has a disability and is under Enham Trust’s care is a massive fan of the Royal Family and was delighted to go.
Paul said:
I was so excited and the event was really lovely! I really love the Royal family and even got to wish the Queen a Happy Birthday!
The four of us had a great time and it was an amazing experience. I couldn’t believe we got invited! Not many people can say the Queen invited them to her garden party!
Those invited to the party included many outstanding members of communities and charities, much like Enham Trust and enjoyed Royal traditions such as the Yeomen of the Guard march and of course, an English cup of tea!
