Sparsholt College

Don’t miss out on securing a College place

With the summer holidays fast approaching Sparsholt College is urging all Year 11 students still making college decisions to come along to the last of their open events for this academic year.  The Open Evening, on Thursday 23 June 2016, 4.00pm to 7.00pm, is not just for school leavers though with the College recently launching a new part-time course programme for those looking for leisure and career development opportunities.

Tim Jackson, Principal said:

We don’t want anyone to miss out. This is the last of our open events for students who will be starting college in September 2016. Whether a school leaver, someone returning to education or after a part-time course this is the ideal opportunity to find out how a passion or interest can be turned into a career. Our expert lecturers will be on hand to discuss the huge selection of courses we have on offer which range from Apprenticeships through to Postgraduate Masters and our industry standard facilities will also be open for visitors to look around and see where they could potentially be studying.

As one of the UK’s leading land-based colleges Sparsholt specialised in a range of advanced vocational courses which are the equivalent to A Levels and has a proven record in students studying on these programmes often progressing to Higher Education and beyond.

Tim Jackson continues:

It makes sense to get a head start if you plan to follow the same line of study at University.  Vocational courses are just as rigorous and highly regarded as A Levels providing early specialist knowledge that universities and employers value.

College staff will be on hand on the 23 June to provide information on Apprenticeships, finance and bursaries, accommodation, transport and careers advice.  Alongside Apprenticeships the College also offers a range of part and full time courses at Further, Higher and Masters level. All courses are designed to lead to a career working on the land, the environment, in sustainable technologies, with animals and in sport.

Courses are available in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Management, Arboriculture and Forestry, Conservation Management, Equine Studies, Fishery Studies, Game and Wildlife, Horticulture and Garden Design, Motor Vehicle, Outdoor Education, Public Services, Sports and Veterinary Nursing.
