Barker-Mill Foundation supports the 2millionsteps campaign

The Barker-Mill Foundation (BMF) has been supporting local charities, schools, organisations and individuals in Hampshire since 1995, and has donated well in excess of £3 million to assist local organisations in the region to continue the excellent work they do.

BMF is a loyal supporter of The Murray Parish Trust, having previously provided funds for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Southampton University Hospital, a highly specialised unit providing acute paediatric care for critically ill children from across the whole of the South of England.

BMF has partnered with the Southern Daily Echo to launch an appeal to raise additional funds for the Murray Parish Trust’s #2MillionSteps campaign, helping them reach their goal of raising £2 million in two years. BMF will match funding and donations of up to £40,000 that’s raised through the appeal with the Echo. The money raised will assist in building a state of the art children’s emergency and trauma department at University Hospital Southampton – which will serve the South of England.

Tim Jobling, BMF Trustee said:

We are thrilled with the generous donations from Southampton Rugby Football Club to the #2Millionsteps appeal. It’s a great way to kick-start the campaign and we hope to encourage further businesses and organisations across the south to help us raise the funds needed to build and open the new children’s A&E department at Southampton Hospital.

BMF donations are established from funds provided by members of the Barker-Mill family in memory of their father and grandfather, Peter Barker-Mill. The Foundation makes around 80 donations each year predominantly to those in the areas where the family has owned land for generations.
