Last week, ten members representing the one hundred and five members of the Andover Bowling Club attended the Mayor’s parlour. The members were invited by the Worshipful Mayor of Test Valley Councillor, Iris Andersen for their long standing commitment and dedication to the club.
In attendance were the President, Treasurer, Fixture Secretary & representatives of the Bowling Green keepers who all help to keep the club running for it’s members and non members alike. All dressed in their club blazers, badges & ties, everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon tea chatting about the club’s history that dates back to 1913 meaning the game of bowls has been played in Andover for 102 years.
The Andover Bowling Club is in the corner of Vigo Park and is used by many people who find the game to be a great recreational sport including a way to meet new people and socialise. As well as the friendly games, members are invited to take part in the various leagues throughout the season including teams for both men and women plus a mixed league
The Worshipful Mayor of Test Valley, Councillor Iris Andersen said
